Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas
Austin, Texas

Dell Seton Medical Center Seton Healthcare Family is partnering with Dell Medical School at the University of Texas to build the Dell Seton Medical Center, a teaching hospital that will provide healthcare at the centerpiece of a new health district in downtown Austin.  With a 517,00 square-foot facility, the Dell Seton Medical Center will be the new home to Austin’s only Level 1 Trauma Center for adults.  The hospital will have 211 beds in operation and 13 operating rooms.  It is specifically designed -in accordance with Gold Level LEED standards- to expand in the future and to support medical education and research.  Because it is a teaching hospital, the DSMC will be able to train and attract more specialized doctors in the area, therefore improving care throughout Central Texas.

Seton Healthcare Family, the owner, broke ground on on the new teaching hospital in 2014, and the hospital is set to open in 2017.  Seton is investing $260 million to construct the new hospital, and The Seton Fund is spearheading the effort to raise another $50 million in donations to complete the project.  Seton has chosen JE Dunn Construction as the general contractor for the project.
